Club HistoryThe Haysi Kiwanis Club was organized on February 2, 1949, and received its Charter on April 21, 1949. During that time the club has logged many successes including sponsoring a new club in Honaker, VA with the help of the Grundy, VA club in August of 1949. Then again in February of 1981, the Haysi Kiwanis Club sponsored and helped to organize the McClure River Kiwanis Club. Sadly the Honaker club is no longer in existence, but the McClure River club is still an active club and is still growing. The Haysi Kiwanis Club has also sponsored the Haysi High School Key Club and that club continues to be an outstanding organization of young people, eager to help their community through their service projects.
